A wave of nausea, a glimmer of hope
The wonder of pregnancy And then you grew. A bulging belly, a rippling movement Our lives intertwined And then you grew. The sleepless nights, the cherished snuggles I held you in my arms And then you grew. You changed Explored You resisted Rebelled You became Fell apart And changed again You became something new. And then you grew.

A mother is pulled
from morning to night from child to child from task to task. A mother is pulled from dusk ‘till dawn from home to work from problem to problem. A mother is pulled from sunrise to sunset from want to need from chore to chore A mother is pulled to Mend hearts Build bridges Create community Provide safety Move mountains Make miracles And she does. |
